Born and raised in Virginia, Cathy Purple Cherry ultimately landed in Annapolis where she grew a large architectural firm specializing in high-end custom homes and estates. A talented architect, visionary, and three-dimensional thinker, Cathy is able to marry clients’ dreams with the reality of the built environment. Cathy’s intense love for the mountains has always been deeply rooted in her, and as such, Cathy is passionate about extending her 25-year old practice through D.C. and down the range to Charlottesville, where she and her husband are building their second home, which they will one day retire in on Ennis Mountain. While Cathy revels in the intricate design opportunities presented by high-end residential architecture, Cathy is equally passionate about her philanthropic efforts and her work serving the special needs community through the firm’s Purposeful Architecture studio.

Jennifer McCune, Jennifer McCune received her PhD in Spanish from the University of Virginia and has experience in
education, training, fundraising, writing, editing, strategic thinking and planning. She also has mediated board retreats and has public speaking experience in networking groups, pod casts, and inspirational video platforms. She runs her own global business (Rodan+Fields) and leads a team of hundreds of professionals throughout the US, Canada and Australia. Furthermore, she is the facilitator of a women’s networking group in Charlottesville, VA, to help empower positive, supportive women.


M. Jordan LoveJordan Love, The Fralin Museum of Art

Academic Curator Jordan Love has developed an interactive workshop that aims to refine the diagnostic skills of students through training in visual analysis. The program is being offered both in the medical school and at The Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia. Medical students venture from the clinic into the art gallery and are there challenged by museum educators and medical professors to observe and articulate what they see in the art before them.

A Certified ICF Work-Life Coach and Senior Human Resource Professional, Carole holds a Bachelors and Masters in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and has been responsible for supporting a military family across the U.S. for 26 years until landing in Northern Virginia. She is
a contributing author in the HR Anthology: Compassion@work (2017).
During her relocations across the U.S., she consulted for the National Confectioners Association’s Annual convention for over 10 years in customer service and facilitation roles, reached top leadership levels in sales organizations by crafting solid customer service methods, and transitioned into human resource roles to maximize her impact on organizational effectiveness and help people influence their own career success. Currently consulting, training, and coaching, Carole work is centered on providing useful tools that minimize the pain points that hold people and organizations back from true engagement, communicating value, and accountability at work, to include how to go after and love feedback, maximizing your value in the interview, driving compassion with curiosity, and how learning where your leadership blind spots exists drives clarity in conversations. Her clients range from graduating college seniors and professional millennials, to executives, business owners, and human resource organizations. Erin Riley, the Magician of Life, is a Virginia native and a full time juggler.  Her motto and the driving force of her life is, “Whoever has the most fun wins!”  The lasting effects of juggling, both mentally and physically, keep Erin constantly challenging herself.   Attending and performing at the annual International Juggling Association convention keeps her connected to her peers and provides enough inspiration to last 365 days.  She teaches the Art of Juggling locally and abroad, helping others focus and have fun!

Sabrina Feggans is the founder and driving force behind Beyond Fitness with Sabrina, a holistically healthy group program that, unsurprisingly, goes far beyond fitness. Her mission is to “motivate, inspire and empower others to make healthier choices one day at a time through staying active, meal planning/prepping, and engaging the community to embrace a healthier- happier lifestyle.” The business was inspired by her ability step out of her comfort zone and lose over 50 lbs. the combination for the love of people, a healthier lifestyle; Sabrina’s commitment to all is rivaled only by her raw energy, enthusiasm and personal success that she shares with the community.   Beyond Fitness with Sabrina and its uniqueness drives emphasis on connectedness – building a network of people who want to be healthier and want to do it together through support and encouragement of like -minded people.

Shannon Myers is the Lead Spark (and Owner/Operator) of Audacia Enterprises, LLC (audaxest.com)  in Charlottesville, VA. She has invested the past 20+ years cultivating her talents as an experiential educator, leadership trainer, and motivational presenter. Shannon draws experience and wisdom from a broad range of occupations – everything from rodeo to estate management to  summer camp; those three occupations, in particular, providing very similar adventures! In addition to speaking and presenting experiential workshops at leadership conferences, Shannon assists organizations in renovating traditional curricula into more experiential formats, teaches lifesaving skills, and is on a life mission to inspire uniquely audacious leadership as and how opportunities present.  Embracing charisma and hilarity, Shannon strives to live life as a perpetual “spark”; encouraging others to find the courage, boldness, and the daring within to ignite and pursue their passions.

Karen’s publications and presentations include “Ten Financial Tips for Women” and “The Salary or the Status-which would you choose?” She is the Assistant Vice President and Managing Officer at Carter Bank & Trust in Charlottesville, VA, responsible for $13M in assets and the developmental training of the staff.

Lelia Winget-Hernandez, owner of Commonwealth Life and Legacy Counsel, PLLC, and Twig Yoga, practices law with her husband, Michael, in Zion Crossroads.  She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and graduated with honors from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii.  After clerking for a federal judge in Richmond and several years practicing on her own, Lelia joined the Virginia Office of the Attorney General in 2006.  As Lead Attorney in the Civil Investigations Unit, she led multi-state teams which negotiated federal and state settlements returning millions of dollars of tax payer money back to the Commonwealth of Virginia.  In July 2013, she left the Attorney General’s Office to open her firm with her husband in Zion Crossroads.  Her practice focuses on wills, powers of attorney, trusts and small business planning and representation for working families with kids.  Lelia’s greatest joy is being a  mom to her two teenage children, Zach and Madeleine.

Hope Rana grew up in the Charlottesville area and graduated in 2002 from the University of Virginia in the “people oriented” study of Cognitive Science and Psychology, where she learned about the way people think, as well as human drive and motivation. Hope then had a 12 year career in business/commercial banking where she partnered with companies to fund their growth strategies. She has since leveraged her passion for people to transition into recruiting and is helping a financial firm grow and develop their local team. Alongside the last 14 years in the corporate space, Hope has built a business in the revenue sharing industry with a strong emphasis on mentorship where she has empowered hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs to leverage business as a vehicle to accomplish their life goals. Hope is involved with the Ishan Gala Foundation, Community Investment Collaborative, and is a Board Member with Charlottesville Business Innovation Council. She loves writing, spoken word poetry, travelling, and challenging herself with new experiences.
