Megan J. Bray, M.D.
Megan Bray is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and a member of
the Generalist Division within her department. She graduated from Duke
University with a Bachelor's in Science degree. She then attended Thomas
Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia for medical school and completed
her residency at the University of Virginia. She took an academic position
in Obstetrics and Gynecology right out of residency at Georgetown University
in 1999 and then boomeranged back to Charlottesville in 2005 to assume her
current position.
Professionally, she not only manages patients with
general obstetrical, gynecologist and female surgical issues, but she is
directly involved in the instruction of both medical students and residents
at every level of their education. Within the UVA's School of Medicine she
holds several educational leadership positions and has been recognized with
several institutional and national educational awards. This year alone she
received one of the distinguished All University UVA Teaching awards, a
Dean's School of Medicine - Excellence in Teaching Award, the Mullholland
Foundations of Medicine and Third Year Clerkship awards and was nominated
for a state teaching award as well as a national humanism in medicine award.
She has taught locally, regionally and nationally and her interests lie
within the realm of developing and delivering new medical school curricula.
She is an active member in several of her specialty's national professional
organizations and has served on one of the National Board of Medical
Examiners Committees dedicated to licensing physicians.
She lives in Charlottesville, VA with her husband and two sons.
